Dr. Cox in My Fishbowl

I don't know about you guys but this is pretty darn close to the actual Alice in my opinion!

Yea, Right...Okay

We were on Hwy 62 today and this Toyota Prius was in front of us. We got tired of seeing the back of the Prius so we decided to simply switch lanes. Just as we did this the Prius sped up as if to block us, which we weren't even passing them. James let it go for a few minutes until he started to accelerate a little and at which point they did the same thing. Okay, so the Prius driver wanted to actually challenge my Mustang GT! James just pressed the gas pedal and away we went leaving the lil' Prius, it's headstrong driver and passenger in the dust. It didn't take much to do it because Sierra (my Stang) doesn't need much encouragement to speed up. Well, we wound up meeting again at a redlight and the Prius gave a valiant effort to show off when the light changed but once again, and as the result will always be we barely touched the gas and wound up 4 car lengths ahead before he even had time to hate us. It used to annoy me when people in these types of cars would buck up against us but now it's just plain amusing. Good times on 62!

Obama and America

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/04/27/6543187-now-that-youve-seen-obamas-long-form-birth-certificate-are-you-convinced-hes-a-us-citizen

Must everything be a conspiracy theory in America?! I know the idea that the government can and will do whatever it wants has truth behind it but where does it stop? Today President Obama released a certified copy of his LONG FORM Birth Certificate to the public. It shows clearly that he was born in Hawaii and even shows his fathers race! Even with this information which NO ONE had a right to request, there is a poll on MSN.com asking the people if they believe it. Guess what the results are:

11.2 % answered Yes, this is irrefutable proof he was born in Hawaii
37.7% answered No, there will always be doubt in my mind
51 % answered I never questioned his citizenship in the first place

I personally choose the option that I never questioned his citizenship. It shows me that 51% of America either has a level head or better things to think about. Now, for the 37.7% I can honestly say are a sad bunch. Do you really think that not believing his birth certificate makes a difference to anyone?! The only people that opinion matters to are the ones who sit and think that we never made it to the moon, the Bermuda Triangle was military created and that there are hidden cameras in our homes so Big Brother can watch us all the time. Pathetic. I guess what was actually proved by the birth certificate is that his father was "African American", which I guess means he's part black. That was news to me because I hadn't even noticed. Is that why so many people dislike him? Maybe it's because he has the name Hussein as his middle name and he's a JR. What difference does that make? A pure Caucasian family could have named their kid that...would that make them ineligible for President? I've seen and heard some pretty screwy names in my time and they were attached to American born citizens.

    "Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
      What's in a name? That which we call a rose
      by any other name would smell as sweet;
      So Romeo would, were he not Romeo called"

Even Shakespeare got it right and that was ages ago in the 1600's! Have we not evolved at all or worse have we started Devolution/Regression? These are just sad times we live in. In a country that claims to be free and we "open" our doors to those who seek a "better" life. How are we offering a better life to those who seek it if we judge them by their namesakes and the colors of their skin? I don't look at every middle eastern person and wonder if they are here to blow up a building. I don't look at every pasty, pale, white guy and think he's a skinhead that hates Jews. I don't care where they came from or what their name is as long as they come here legally or WERE BORN HERE (as many are) and live an honest life then I say more power to them!

In truth it's the American born people who have picked this country down to the bones. Welfare, WIC and Food stamps have bled this country dry. People who obviously cannot afford to feed a family still make babies that the government and the tax payers have to pay for. Why is THAT not a bigger issue in our current economy? Deal with it: WE GOT A BLACK PRESIDENT AND THERE'S NO GOING BACK! He's not a terrorist or a fraud, your just mad because he's not the color you would have chosen. I'm not saying I;m his fan or anything, in fact I think he's made quite a few mistakes and will make more but what president hasn't? There will NEVER be a president that EVERY American likes and stands beside, the worlds just doesn't work that way but why harp over something that means absolutely nothing? Your wasting your life worrying about his. It makes me sad to think what this country will be like when my kids are grown. I just hope that they listen to us when we tell them to avoid (like the plague) people who distrust everything. There's no life to be lived in constant paranoia. I feel sorry for those people and hope that before it all ends they will finally see that not everything was as plotted and planned as they thought. There really is a beautiful America out there you just have to open the shutters and let it in...but then again maybe that's what THEY want you to do.

The Clock

We have this Scientific Digital Clock in our livingroom. It tells time inc. seconds, date, day of week and temperature. My husband had it when I met him and to my knowledge he "experimented" by putting it in the freezer a couple of times but it kept coming back to life. It's Radio/Satellite controlled which is "optional", we keep it turned to off but it has decided it will remain on instead. Oh well. It keeps the time correctly most of the time but for some reason the date won't stay correct. I was having a conversation with James tonight as dinner was cooking that because of that clock I am glad I'm not crazy. If I were crazy it might make sense that yesterday was November 10th and today is the 4th of July, no joke those are actually what the dates were reading.

Maybe there's some truth here...

I don't know about you guys but throughout the entire series of Buffy I always thought Anya's fear of bunnies was just silly. These pictures I found give me reason to start thinking there might be some truth behind those fears...

Modern day clones

Why is it that almost every teenage or even worse, college aged chicks look exactly alike? They wear these skinny jeans or tiny skirts with tank tops and Ugg boots (which really should be outlawed) or flip flops. Where did the identity go in the world? I hardly see anyone unique anymore except those who try WAY too hard to stand out. If you want attention just ask for it! Any who, back on subject. I see these groups of girls walking around and it's like their a little gang of badly dressed, not really tough clones. They walk the streets and I honestly want to get my eyes checked because I keep thinking I'm seeing in multiples!

The other day James and I were at Big 5 Sporting Goods store in Yucca Valley, CA. We (and another older gray haired guy) were leaving the store just as a mother, kiddo and teenage girl were entering. The mother was carrying the kiddo and the teen girl was walking behind her. The teen had on the TINIEST stretchy black shorts (I say shorts b/c I think that's what they were supposed to be) that looked EXACTLY LIKE a pair of "boy shorts" ladies underwear. She was SUPER thin (maybe 80 lbs). The top that accompanied the "shorts" was a white t-shirt, knotted in the front to show her naval. Her butt cheeks were hanging out of the wannabe shorts. The mother didn't seem to care at all! The worst thing was that the gray haired guy (who exited with us) was staring at her quite intently. I can't say for sure what he was thinking but I sure have an idea by the look on his face! I would bet she wasn't more than 15 years old.

Why would the world teach girls that this type of "fashion" is acceptable or worse, required?! When I was young the worst I ever wore were shorts (yeah actual shorts) with long sleeve shirts. It was the "style" at the time. It wasn't the most attractive thing but at least I was appropriately covered. If I had ever walked out of the house looking like modern girls then my mom would have beat clothes onto my skin. I really wish girls would wake up and realize that more skin doesn't equal more respect. It gets you attention but it's definitely NOT the type of attention they should want. I hold parents mostly responsible for the young teens because if they can't work then they have no money and if they don't have money then they can't buy those clothes- so who buys them? You do have a say over what they wear and yes, she might get mad but at least she's less of a target for nasty predators or "cool older guys that think shes funny and doesn't want anything in return for giving her a ride".

Fabulous Traffic Law!

Dear California,
We already know your about the most 'Tarded state in the country but must you prove it all the time?! Out here the speed limits are fairly decent (65 on HWY) but unlike (I'm guessing here) every other state you have ONE traffic law that makes you earn the "Dumbest Idea" trophy. No matter what the weather, traffic or speed conditions Motorcycles are allowed to drive down the WHITE LINES in between vehicles! On the interstate I'm going 75 (so is everyone else or faster), we're pretty well packed in there on a 4 or 5 lane side, I begin to change lanes (still keeping with traffic) and a Biker decides to come out of NOWHERE between me and the car I'm merging in front of- What will the result be? HUGE THUD, Breaks squealing, Sirens and flashing lights, Traffic backed up for MILES, I'm sad and peeved, Praying I don't get sued for vehicular manslaughter and Biker Idiot #1 is a new line on I-10... Now California, does this ACTUALLY make sense? Exactly- NOPE, didn't think so but then again hardly anything does here.

Pick a vehicle that fits you

I saw this WAY too many times today and just had to say something. Whenever I see a scrawny little woman climb into a GIANT, overcompensating truck all I can think is how ridiculous they look! All I hope is that we don't meet on the road because I can't imagine how you can even see over the dashboard. It's as stupid to me as a big, fat-fatty guy cramming himself into a Porsche or Miata...poor lil' cars. I'm not
saying these people are incapable of driving these vehicles, I'm just saying that (as my Dad always said) "Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD".

Drew Carey Improv-A-Ganza

I saw the previews on GSN for the new Drew Carey show Improv-A-Ganza and got super excited. I LOVED the show Whos Line is it Anyway and expected this to be even better since it wasn't on ABC or owned by Disney. I watched the first episode and was so disappointed. It started with a song and ended with one. There were none of the interesting "games" like on Whos Line. It was the majority singing and what wasn't was pretty under par for these performers. We watched the 2nd episode and it started, onca again with a song and the 2nd performance was also singing, then of course the 3rd part also had (did you guess it?)singing! I certainly DON'T LIKE THIS new show! I don't recommend it. I guess the final straw was that they guess starred Charlie Sheen and thats just...bleh.
Bottom line: If you liked Whos Line then you probably won't like this, unless the musical parts were what you watched for and in that case you'll likely love this show.
