Geico and Allstate Mayhem Commercials

I really like a few of the newer Geiko commercials. My favorite is the "Do Woodchucks really chuck wood". I also like the Squeeling piggy and Drill Instructor. I think it was a great idea for them to continue using the gecko  but also expand to these announcer ones at the same time. I'm glad the cavemen are "gone", I liked maybe the first few of those but they got old REALLY quickly.


As much as I enjoy the Drill Instructor commercial, theres something that just bugs me...
R. Lee Ermey (the one who plays the Psychiatrist) was a US Marine. In the beginning of the
commercial the announcer calls him a "Drill Sergeant" when they should have called him a
"Drill Instructor". The Army have Drill Sergeants but the Marines have Drill Instructors. I just think
that had Geico taken just a few minutes to research it then it would have been an easy adjustment.


I think Allstate was genius for using this Mayhem approach. Dean Winters is PERFECT for the
role! I have enjoyed almost all of the commercials thus far. I can't choose between the
Faulty GPS or Teenage Txt Driver, either could be my favorite. They also kept their "serious"
approach with Dennis Haysbert but after the TV show 24 I just can't take him anymore.


Progressive is my Insurance provider yet I can't stand the ads! The character "Flo" is just
annoying. She makes weird faces, wears TOO much make up and her voice is so Blah.
I can't think of even one single commercial she's been in that has even made chuckle in the
slightest. I can't wait for them to change directions.
