Oscar Awards 2011

I have to say that this was one of my favorite Oscar presentations in MANY years. Anne Hathaway and James Franco did a nice job and complimented one another very well. Most of the presenters were well known and accredited actors with grace and style. The only dress I didn't like on Ms. Hathaway was the next to last blue, plastic looking one. It was simply hard to look at. My favorite of the night was the James Franco in the pink dress and blond wig. His comment about Charlie Sheen was both deserved and hilarious. I'm SO glad that there weren't 1000 musical numbers this year...that crap is just obnoxious. I was a little disappointed that "How to Train your Dragon" lost to "Toy Story 3" as best animated film. I liked TS3 but Dragon was incredible!

I was glad to be able to watch as "Social Network" lost time and time again. That movie NEVER deserved all the praise it received. It could have been a worth while documentary but not a feature film. Casting Timberlake was just a way to pull attention into it. I didn't like that Christian Bale won, as I feel he's completely overrated in almost everything he does. I missed seeing jack Nicholson this year..he makes everything gold! In all honesty though, we didn't watch them live. We DVR'd them to fast forward through the junk we didn't care about or the speeches that went on too long. DVR makes me wonder how I ever survived watching 3.5 HOURS with commercials and nothing to fight back with but the MUTE button. Thanks DVR!

All in all I have to say A+ for this years show! I'm glad I watched and I'm glad to see deserving films, actors, actresses, etc take home an Oscar!
